Buck Island Ranch was John D. MacArthur's personal ranch. During the time he owned the ranch (from1968 until his death in 1978), Mr. MacArthur visited the ranch often, usually flying in from Palm Beach with his pilot, Phil Catasus, and landing on the ranch airstrip. He brought many visitors to the Ranch. He had a personal interest in the ranch operation and enjoyed going out into the woods. In the words of his Ranch Manager, Dan Childs, "he loved this place." Below are some photos of John D. MacArthur during his visits to Buck Island Ranch.
