Lactrodectus bishopi (Red Widow Spider) is endemic to scrub habitats in the southern half of the Florida peninsula, and
at Archbold it spins its web primarily in palmetto fronds. Its populations are cyclical
(see Carrel 2001). Photo by Nancy Deyrup.

The Archbold Biological Station's Web site contains a growing body of information about
the Station's history and programs. This short bibliography includes some important
publications about the Station's history, geology, ecology, and biodiversity. The
Station's scientific bibliography, STABIB, includes over
1,500
references (through 2004). The majority of the publications in the Station bibliography
are based on research done on the Station's property and thus include the record of
scientific information about Archbold Biological Station's ecosystems.
For readers at Archbold Biological Station. A set of reprints for
almost all of the references below is assembled in a white notebook ( call number:
574.5/975.9/ABS) and shelved in the Library Reading Room in the Florida Reference Section
(Row 13). The reprints are stored in numerical order using the number at the end of each
citation in the list below.
No bibliography is ever complete. Please send your corrections, additions, or
comments to the compiler. Thank you.
