The Greater Ridge Conservation Planning
Tool represents a new way of thinking about conservation and land use
planning on central Florida's Lake Wales Ridge. It encourages a
science-based approach that accepts that communities will continue to
grow, while simultaneously emphasizing the need to preserve a functional
landscape that allows for the movement of wildlife, and the management,
protection, and preservation of existing natural areas and species over
time.
